We here at The Daily Whatever try to run a tight ship, with planning and production values and whatnot, but sometimes things don’t go according to plan—a lesson we’ve learned a lot this week!
Today,
was going to ask me about the story I was supposed to have just published—but I collapsed into bed at 8:30pm last night, and never got to finish it. The joys of working two jobs, and co-hosting an every day podcast, I suppose. But hey, we’re scrappy GenXers, and so we winged it, and it ended up being amazing!
The article I’m writing is a nonfiction version of my SciFi story:
Dieter Murphy was real, and I knew him for the last three years of his life. We talked about how it’s entirely possible that Dieter contracted HIV and later died of AIDS in the time I knew him. There were lots of unknowns in the early days of AIDS, including about transmission, reminiscent of the uncertainty at the beginning of COVID in a way.
From there we ranged into a special report from
at Kansas City Pride, and into topics as diverse as GLP-1s and weight loss and unsoliticted dick pics. It was a crazy good time, and be sure to watch til the end when jumps on and takes the chat to the next level!Thank you
