The Daily Whatever, July 29: Lawrence’s Latest Novel Chapter

Of the many joys I’ve found here on Substack (seriously, don’t laugh!) one of the most surprising to me is the elation I feel when reading excerpts of my novel out loud for the chat on our Lives.

I had no idea how rewarding that would feel, but here I am, awash in the post-orgasmic glow of yet another successful read, and ladies and germs, let me tell you, it rivals sex.

Today, I read from chapter 3 of Light Shines Through, my queer dystopian sci-fi novel that I’m serializing over on Lawrence Winnerman | SCIENCE FICTION. In this chapter, we meet Jackie Anne Lennox and her best friend, Shan, as they reconnoiter for a girls’ night while Jackie deals with a breakup.
