I am totally with you on this! I think there is an insidious calcification that occurs. In Schumer’s case we need to get the Dem Senators to oust him. And though some are younger than boomers too many are still mired in the obsolete “institutional norms” — especially seniority and deference — that are killing us. Meanwhile Chuck is merrily on a book tour where he charges for tickets. We need to continue our rage & withhold our money because money is what they understand. (And please Chuck get some decent glasses. You look idiotic with them always slipping down your nose. Personal pet peeve.)

PS: Not all boomers are Joe Bidens & Chuck Schumers. My daughter exempted me from her boomer rage. 😊

I would definitely agree that the Democratic Party has members who are in power and they don’t wanna let go and that is one of the downfalls of the Democratic Party. I have compared the two parties similarly. The Republican Party move as a unit now mind you most of them are straight white conservative, Christian nationalist who understand what their agenda is the Democratic Party is full again with people who are older. You have been around a very long time and the Democratic Party doesn’t move as a unit. It’s made of all these smaller minorities in which some of us don’t get along very well. We disagree on topics and when it’s time to vote, we have to like come together and we don’t always do that well. The Republican party is very good about seeing the young people within their party and everyone lifting them up they come into agreement. This is the next generation of our party and who we want where is the Democratic Party? They’re not as eager to do so, and sometimes the people they do put and try to lift up like Pete Buttigieg, who I love and adore. They have done Little with other politicians and that is where the Democratic Party sucks if the party could see past its differences amongst it’s different parts and pieces and move in a direction together, knowing that even though we may not agree on everything, we have each other‘s backs and stepping into the voting polls, and also looking at who people are driving behind or giving them someone to say hey this is who our party is really seeing as the next generation of politician who can help and they have very similar interest as we as far as caring for our country as a form of endorsement and it should happen regularly . All in all you are right

Your comments are a gift, Jason—thank you! I love your perspective, and can see that overall we agree on the general vibe. I agree with you about Pete—I think he’s the future of the Democratic Party, and wonder how we can get more guys like him and Rep. Jason Crow into office.
