Loved this and so weirded out that “Country Roads” made an appearance because it’s in the essay I’m currently writing and publishing tomorrow. So random. Can’t wait to see you in the morning!
Ahh Dana, once again our experience mirror each other. We took the same trip for the same reasons last fall. We fell in love with Westport and the university there. Please keep us posted on your daughters journey.
I left you a private message with more personal details. Our daughter is also an artist… so the search continues—- another option for our girls under 40– Ireland will pay them to move to one of the islands and refurbish a home from the 1990s. So that’s also a consideration we’re looking into.
On my second read both amused [at myself] and pleased that you named your Seattle Music Website after the early The Cure song of the same name - same save for pluralizing it and changing the sex of the protagonist[s] - again, very cool . I met Robert Smith a few years prior in Chelsea NYC and he signed the back of a UNIX based email I had on me to "One Imaginary Boy," which was nice of him. It is also one of the few lead guitar riffs I have ever bothered to learn [my style of playing the guitar is basically Damien Rice's performance of Woman Like a Man at Union Chapel, it doesn't lend itself to a lot of finesse]. Thanking you ever so much for your time.
Very nice.

Whoa… I love moments of synchronicity like that!!
Same!
Ireland would be a dream! If we get the chance to move it will be France.

Oooh what is Westport?

Westport Ireland. The name of the university escapes me at this moment (menopause brain)— but the town and the islands and the people— it’s idyllic
